Oakland: Samoa Kiribati Islands was the first place in the world to welcome 2021. Soon after this, New Zealand also welcomed the new year.

New Zealand celebrated the new year with excitement despite the pandemic. People welcomed 2021 with cheers and fire crackers. Oakland and Wellington were the first places in the country to witness the new year.

Thousands of people gathered at Victoria St. West in Central Oakland to welcome the new year.

After New Zealand, Australia, Japan, China and India next in line to welcome 2021.

Baker and Howland Islands will be the last places in the world to witness the new year. However, the islands are not inhabited by humans.
