A mass shooting occurred at a Chick-fil-A in Union Township, New Jersey on Saturday, reportedly leaving one person dead and several others injured, according to RLS Media.

The incident is said to have taken place at the outlet along Route 22 around 8:40 pm.

Authorities are reportedly investigating the incident in which multiple shots were fired inside or near the establishment, which was said to be crowded at the time, the local news outlet added.

Disturbing visuals from the scene showed a heavy police presence outside the Chick-fil-A in Union Township.

Several people rushed to safety as gunfire erupted, causing panic at the scene. As per the report, at least six people were shot and one was declared dead on the spot. Others were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment, and their conditions remain unknown.

The Union County Prosecutor’s Office is leading the investigation. Authorities have not released details about the suspect or indicated any possible motive for the shooting.(With inputs from Agencies)
