However, neither Israel nor Iran has confirmed any ceasefire agreement and Israeli airstrikes continued to pound Tehran and other cities into early Tuesday

US President Donald Trump claimed on social media on Monday that Israel and Iran have agreed to a "complete and total ceasefire," set to be phased in over 24 hours. Posting on his platform, Truth Social, President Trump said the ceasefire would mark the "Official END" of the war, following a significant escalation in the conflict over the weekend.
The announcement follows a US military strike targeting three Iranian nuclear facilities. However, neither Israel nor Iran has confirmed any ceasefire agreement and Israeli airstrikes continued to pound Tehran and other cities into early Tuesday.
Earlier on Monday, Iran launched a missile attack on a US military base in Qatar in retaliation for the American bombing of key nuclear sites. US officials reported no casualties from the Iranian strike.
