Washington: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met tech billionaire Elon Musk in Washington, where he presented special gifts to Musk’s children. During their meeting at Blair House, Modi gifted three classic books to Musk’s children—Rabindranath Tagore’s The Crescent Moon, The Great R K Narayan Collection and Panchatantra by Pandit Vishnu Sharma.

Modi shared pictures from the meeting on X, showing Musk’s children engrossed in reading the books. The meeting was attended by Musk’s partner Shivon Zilis, who was also present during the discussions.
Expressing his delight, Modi wrote, “It was a pleasure to meet Elon Musk’s family and discuss various topics of mutual interest.” He described the conversation as insightful and engaging, adding, “We discussed a range of subjects, including space exploration, mobility, technology, and innovation.”

Musk’s family

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO, known for his groundbreaking ventures, is also a father of 12 children. His first child with former wife and author Justine Wilson tragically passed away at just 10 weeks old due to Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. The couple later had five children via IVF—twins Griffin and Vivian, followed by triplets Saxon, Damian and Kai.

In his relationship with Canadian musician Grimes, Musk had three more children: X Ash A Twelve, Exa Dark Sideriel and Tau Technomechanicus. The youngest of the three was born via surrogacy.

Strengthening India-US collaboration

The Prime Minister’s Office released an official statement confirming that Modi and Musk discussed strengthening cooperation between India and the US in fields such as artificial intelligence, sustainable development, space exploration and innovation.

The meeting took place just hours before Modi’s scheduled discussions with former US President Donald Trump at the White House. Accompanying Modi were External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, India’s Ambassador to the US Vinay Kwatra and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri.

This high-profile interaction underscored the growing collaboration between India and global tech leaders, paving the way for new advancements in multiple sectors.
