Pittsburgh: Indian citizen Sudiksha Konanki, a 20-year-old University of Pittsburgh student, has been reported missing while on a trip to the Dominican Republic. Authorities say she vanished while at a beach, prompting an extensive search operation by the authorities. The Embassy of India in the Dominican Republic is coordinating with US authorities and law enforcement agencies. Sudiksha, a resident of Virginia, was last seen on a beach, according to Dominican officials. A police source revealed that she had been at the beach with a group of five other women and two American men. While the others returned to their hotel, she stayed behind with one of the men.  A spokesperson for the University of Pittsburgh confirmed that the institution is in contact with Sudiksha’s family and authorities in Virginia. Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office stated that six Pitt students were on the trip, at least two from Virginia, including Sudiksha Sudiksha.  Search efforts have intensified, with Dominican Civil Defense teams scouring beaches on foot and deploying helicopters. The case has sparked widespread concern on social media, with friends and classmates sharing updates. While no arrests have been made, the investigation remains ongoing.
