Following a major offensive by the United States and Israel against Iran, tensions across the Middle East have escalated sharply. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) and other Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states have issued urgent public safety warnings, urging citizens and residents to stay indoors and await official instructions.

UAE urges residents to remain indoors

The UAE has sent SMS alerts instructing people to stay inside. Authorities warned against sharing unverified information via social media or other channels, citing the risk of confusion and harm to security and stability.

The Public Prosecution emphasised that all information must come from official sources. Anyone reposting content from unknown origins can face legal consequences, even if they are not the original creator. Spreading rumours is considered a crime, and citizens are reminded that information carries responsibility.

Qatar halts public events and Ramadan gatherings

In response to rising tensions, Qatar has suspended all public events, gatherings, and entertainment at hotels and tourism sites until further notice. Ramadan tents and iftar gatherings, usually held for companies, government entities, and the public, are also paused. Authorities confirmed these measures will remain in effect until further guidance is issued.

The warnings from the UAE and GCC states reflect a heightened security posture in the Gulf, with officials stressing vigilance, adherence to official updates, and strict compliance with safety directives to protect the public.
