Speculation has been swirling that President Donald Trump might consider removing FBI director Kash Patel — but a photo posted by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt on X tells a very different story. Leavitt, who was in the Oval Office when the report emerged, shared an image of Trump smiling beside Patel, signalling the pair are on good terms.

She rejected the report claiming that Trump was considering dismissing FBI Director Kash Patel, adding that she had been present when the report surfaced.

“This story is completely made up. I was in the Oval Office, where President Trump was meeting his law enforcement team, including FBI Director Kash Patel,” Leavitt wrote. She added that she read the headline aloud in the room, prompting Trump to laugh. According to her, the president responded, “That’s totally false. Come on, Kash, let’s take a picture to show them you’re doing a great job.” She ended her post with a warning: “Do not believe the fake news.”

Earlier, An American news channel MS NOW had reported—citing three unnamed sources—that Trump was considering replacing Patel due to dissatisfaction within his team over unfavourable news coverage involving the FBI director. The outlet also claimed that Trump was weighing Patel’s removal and viewing senior FBI official Andrew Bailey as a potential successor.
