The latest strike follows what the IRGC described as the first phase of its retaliatory campaign, during which it claimed to have targeted four US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain.

Tehran: Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Thursday claimed it had launched a fresh wave of ballistic missile attacks targeting the US Al-Azraq air base in northern Jordan, describing the strike as the second phase of its retaliation against recent American attacks on Tehran.
According to a statement carried by Iran's state broadcaster, the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), the IRGC said it fired 10 ballistic missiles at what it called an American "command and control centre" in West Asia.
"At 2:20 pm today, IRGC aerospace fighters destroyed the enemy's command and control centre in West Asia and the enemy air base in Al-Azraq, Jordan, with 10 ballistic missiles," the statement read.
The IRGC warned that any further military action by the United States would invite more attacks on American military installations across the region.
"If the US terrorist army repeats its aggression, other US bases in the region will not be safe from our heavy fire," the statement carried by IRIB added.
It also reiterated that Tehran had previously warned its military response would expand if attacks against Iran continued.
Jordan confirms missiles entered its airspace
Jordanian authorities confirmed that air raid sirens were activated after missiles entered the country's airspace from Iran.
Government spokesperson Mohammad Al-Momani said the incoming missiles were intercepted by Jordan's armed forces.
"Air raid sirens were activated by the Public Security Directorate just moments ago, following reports of the Kingdom's airspace being breached by missiles launched from Iran, which were intercepted and dealt with," Al-Momani posted on X.
He added, "The valiant Jordanian Armed Forces are on high alert, ready to address any threat facing the Kingdom, and are deploying all their efforts to safeguard the nation's security and the safety of its citizens."
The latest strike follows what the IRGC described as the first phase of its retaliatory campaign, during which it claimed to have targeted four US military facilities in Kuwait and Bahrain.
According to Iran's Press TV, the IRGC said missiles and drones were used to strike Camp Arifjan and Ali Al Salem Air Base in Kuwait, along with Naval Support Activity Bahrain (Juffair) and Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.
The IRGC condemned the earlier US attacks, describing them as a "violation of commitments" and reaffirmed its determination to fight what it called the "child-killing US military."
The latest escalation comes after the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced on Wednesday that American forces had launched additional strikes against Iran.
In a post on X, CENTCOM said, "At the direction of the Commander in Chief, US Central Command forces have started conducting additional strikes against Iran to further degrade their ability to threaten freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz."
The military said the operation was aimed at reducing Iran's capability to threaten commercial shipping and civilian vessels operating through the strategic waterway.
Meanwhile, Iranian state media reported power outages in the southern port city of Chabahar following the US strikes, while the semi-official Fars News Agency reported explosions in the city of Bushehr, indicating the conflict continues to intensify across the region.
