Indian Embassy in Lebanon advises nationals to stay vigilant and avoid unnecessary travel amid regional tensions.

Beirut: The Indian Embassy in Lebanon has issued an advisory urging all Indian nationals in the country to avoid unnecessary travel, remain vigilant, and follow local safety and emergency instructions amid escalating tensions in the Middle East.
The embassy stressed that in case of emergencies, Indian citizens in Lebanon can contact the mission via mobile at +96176860128 or email at cons.beirut@mea.gov.in.
“In view of the current situation in the region, all Indian nationals in Lebanon are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, remain vigilant, and observe locally advised safety and emergency procedures,” the advisory read.
The guidance comes as India expressed deep concern over recent developments in Iran and the Gulf region, urging all parties to exercise restraint, prevent escalation, and prioritise civilian safety. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) emphasised the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to de-escalate tensions, while respecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all states.

MEA spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal noted that Indian missions in the region are in continuous contact with nationals, issuing advisories and updates to ensure their safety and situational awareness.
Other Indian missions in the Gulf have also issued similar warnings:
- Iran: The Embassy in Tehran advised Indians to exercise “utmost caution,” remain indoors as much as possible, avoid unnecessary movements, and monitor news and Embassy updates.
- Qatar: The Indian Embassy in Doha urged nationals to take due care, follow official advisories, and heed emergency alerts from local authorities, particularly regarding proximity to military sites.
- United Arab Emirates: The Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Consulate General in Dubai instructed all Indian nationals to avoid unnecessary travel, remain vigilant, and follow UAE safety guidelines. Emergency contact via toll-free and WhatsApp numbers is available.

The advisory reinforces the importance of situational awareness and preparedness for Indian nationals living or travelling in the Middle East amid ongoing military tensions.
