King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh is set to resume operations at Terminals 1 and 2 on Sunday, October 25, with passengers urged to check their flight status before travelling to the airport amid security concerns in Saudi Arabia.

Under the revised terminal arrangements, Terminal 1 will handle domestic flights, while Terminal 2 will serve international flights operated by Saudi national carriers, the airport administration said in an advisory posted on X.

Passengers with confirmed bookings have been advised to contact their airlines to verify flight details before leaving for the airport.

Houthi rebels claim attacks on Saudi airports and energy sites

The announcement comes after Yemen's Houthi rebels claimed responsibility for attacks targeting several locations across Saudi Arabia, including King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh.

Houthi military spokesperson Yahya Saree also claimed that the group targeted energy infrastructure and other aviation and military facilities in the kingdom. The claims included sites in Yanbu, Dammam, Najran and Khamis Mushait, as well as the Rabigh refinery and the East-West oil pipeline.

The group also renewed its warning against using King Khalid International Airport, describing it as a military target.

Air India suspends some Saudi Arabia flights

The security situation has also prompted changes to Indian airline operations. Air India and Air India Express have suspended flights to and from Riyadh and Dammam through November 7, while services connecting to Jeddah will remain suspended through October 31.

Affected passengers have been offered complimentary rebooking or full refunds.

Travellers planning to fly to or from Saudi Arabia should confirm their flight status directly with their airline, as the resumption of terminal operations does not necessarily mean every scheduled service will operate as planned.
