At least ten rockets fired by Hezbollah struck Nahariyya in northern Israel, triggering sirens and fresh fears of a wider conflict.

Nahariyya: Tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border escalated sharply after at least ten rockets fired by Hezbollah struck areas in and around the northern Israeli coastal city of Nahariyya, triggering air raid sirens and sending residents scrambling for cover.
According to Israeli authorities, sirens blared across Nahariyya and nearby towns in the Galilee region as the incoming rockets were detected.
While some projectiles were intercepted by Israel’s air defence systems, several reportedly landed in open areas and near residential zones, prompting an immediate emergency response.
Initial reports suggested limited casualties, with at least one person sustaining minor injuries.
Emergency services and security personnel were deployed to multiple impact sites to assess damage and ensure public safety. Authorities also advised residents to remain close to bomb shelters amid fears of further incoming fire.
Hezbollah, the Iran-backed militant group based in southern Lebanon, has claimed responsibility for the barrage, describing it as part of its ongoing retaliation against Israeli military operations in Lebanon.
The group has stepped up rocket and missile attacks in recent days, targeting both military positions and civilian areas in northern Israel.
Nahariyya, along with other border towns such as Kiryat Shmona and Shlomi, has increasingly come under fire as cross-border hostilities intensify. The latest strike marks one of the more concentrated barrages on the coastal city in recent weeks.
The escalation comes against the backdrop of a broader regional conflict involving Israel and Iran-backed groups, raising concerns about the possibility of a wider war.
Since early March, exchanges of fire between Israel and Hezbollah have grown more frequent and intense, with both sides carrying out strikes across the border.
Israeli officials have reiterated that they will respond firmly to any attacks on their territory, while also urging civilians in northern regions to stay alert and follow safety protocols.
With no immediate signs of de-escalation, the situation along Israel’s northern frontier remains volatile, as repeated rocket fire continues to disrupt daily life and heighten security concerns.
