Disney+ experienced a major outage on Thursday evening, with tens of thousands of users reporting issues accessing the streaming platform.
According to Downdetector, more than 20,000 users flagged problems around 6:04 a.m. IST, primarily related to login failures across both mobile and desktop versions. Users reported that the email field was not loading properly when attempting to sign in.
In a statement on X, Disney+ acknowledged the disruption, saying it was investigating login issues affecting some users and working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible.
“We’re currently investigating issues affecting login for some users and hope to have this resolved soon. Thank you for your patience!” the company said.
Customer support accounts also confirmed the issue in replies to users, noting that engineers were actively working on a fix.
Reports of the outage came from multiple regions, including the UK as well as North and South America. Some users also reported that Hulu and ESPN services were affected, raising broader concerns due to upcoming live sports coverage.
The timing of the disruption led to uncertainty among viewers ahead of the World Cup match between South Korea and Mexico.
