Dhaka: Spiritual leader Sadhguru (Jagadish Vasudev) has taken to Twitter to express his concern over the growing harassment of Hindus in Bangladesh. Sharing a screenshot of a news article, he wrote, "The atrocities being perpetrated against Hindus is not just an internal matter of #Bangladesh. Bharat cannot be Maha-Bharat if we do not stand up and act at the earliest to ensure the safety of minorities in our neighborhood. What was part of this Nation unfortunately became neighborhood, but it is our responsibility to protect these people -who actually belong to this Civilization- from these shocking atrocities."

Sadhguru's tweet comes in the wake of devastating attacks on the houses and business establishments of the minorities by mobs. On Monday afternoon, the residence of renowned Hindu musician Rahul Ananda was looted and set ablaze by a mob in Dhaka's Dhanmondi. The attack destroyed over 3,000 musical instruments.

Ananda, frontman of the popular band Joler Gaan, is a renowned music artist, lyricist, multi-instrumentalist, and cultural personality. His band shared a video on social media showcasing the destruction of his instrument collection, which was housed at his residence.

It is also learnt that Ananda, his wife and son managed to escape unharmed. However, the incident has sent shockwaves through the Hindu minority community in Bangladesh.

The attack adds to the incidents of violence against the minorities in Bangladesh, where protests and unrest have been ongoing since early July. Monday marked the deadliest day of protests, with at least 113 people killed.

Indian External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar had also expressed concern over the situation, stating that New Delhi is "monitoring the situation with regard to the status of minorities".
