Kerala’s Norka Care insurance scheme, offering health and accident insurance to expat Malayalis, ends its enrolment (registration) window tonight, marking the final day for eligible expatriates and their families to register.

The State government launched Norka Care insurance scheme through Norka Roots as a comprehensive health and personal accident insurance scheme for Malayali expatriates and their families. The scheme, introduced on November 1 Kerala Piravi Day, has already enrolled more than one lakh expat households.

Only those holding a valid Norka Pravasi ID, Student ID or NRK ID are eligible for enrolment.

When does enrolment end?

Enrolment for Norka Care ends tonight (November 30), completing the 70-day window that began on September 22, 2025. The original deadline was October 22 but the State extended it to November 30 after repeated requests from expatriates.

Eligible applicants may enrol until midnight today. Applicants can visit the link ‘Norka Care insurance: How to register, check eligibility, coverage, and hospital list' for step-by-step guidance.

What benefits does the scheme offer?

A family package covering a husband, wife and two children below 25 years is available for ₹13,411. Adding one more child under 25 costs ₹4,130.

The scheme provides:

  • ₹5 lakh health insurance
  • ₹10 lakh group personal accident insurance
  • For individuals aged 18–70, the premium stands at ₹8,101.

Currently, more than 18,000 hospitals across the country — including over 500 in Kerala — offer cashless treatment under the scheme.

How to correct personal details?

Those already enrolled may correct errors in personal details — such as name, date of birth or missing family members — from December 15 to 25, 2025. Corrections can be made through the Norka Care mobile app or the official website.

How is the outreach being carried out?

Norka Roots staff, expatriate communities, organisations and Pravasi groups across India and abroad have actively promoted the scheme and conducted enrolment drives to maximise participation.
