Malayali child dies in Oman crash while returning from Salalah; family injured, body to be repatriated

Salalah: A five-year-old girl lost her life in a tragic car accident in Oman. The victim has been identified as Jasa Harin, daughter of Navas and Rasiya, originally from Keecheri near Mattannur in Kannur, and currently residing in Nizwa, Oman.
The accident occurred around 3:30 am near Adam while the family was travelling back to Nizwa after a visit to Salalah. According to reports, their vehicle overturned after the driver lost control amid a severe dust storm. The impact of the crash threw Jasa Harin out of the vehicle, leading to her death at the scene.
Navas, Rasiya, and their elder daughter, Zia Fathima, sustained minor injuries and are undergoing treatment at Adam Hospital. Sources close to the family said they had been planning to return to Kerala in the coming days.
Rasiya is the daughter of Moithu Maniyoor, the Secretary of the Karnataka chapter of the Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC) based in Bangalore.
Upon hearing of the tragedy, KMCC volunteers from Nizwa quickly reached the spot and extended all necessary assistance to the grieving family.
Efforts are currently underway to complete the required formalities and repatriate the child’s body to Kerala for the final rites.
