New Delhi: The Budget Session of Parliament will convene from July 22 to August 12, announced Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju on Saturday.
Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to present the budget on July 23.
Rijiju said, "Hon'ble President of India, on the recommendation of Government of India, has approved the proposal for summoning of both the Houses of Parliament for the Budget Session, 2024 from 22nd July, 2024 to 12 August, 2024 (Subject to exigencies of Parliamentary Business)."
This session marks the first budget presentation of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's third term, eagerly anticipated after President Droupadi Murmu's pledge of significant historic measures.
Addressing a joint session of Parliament, she indicated that major social and economic policies would feature prominently in the budget.
An interim budget was tabled in February due to the Lok Sabha elections, held from April to June. PTI
