Washington DC: US President Donald Trump has announced a partnership with Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries to build the first major US oil refinery in over 50 years.

Labeled by Trump as a "$300 Billion Historic Deal," the project aims to establish America First Refining at the Port of Brownsville, Texas, marking a decisive shift toward American "Energy Dominance" amidst the ongoing West Asia conflict.

Key highlights of the reliance-US refinery deal

Location: Port of Brownsville, Texas (Gulf of Mexico).

The partner: Reliance Industries (India), operator of the world’s largest refinery in Jamnagar.

Investment scale: Reported at $300 Billion (the largest in US history).

Primary objective: Processing 100% American shale oil to lower domestic fuel prices.

The US has not seen a major new refinery since the 1970s. As the Iran-Israel conflict continues to squeeze global supply chains and the Strait of Hormuz remains a volatility flashpoint, this project is being framed as a national security priority.

"This is a historic $300 billion dollar deal -- the biggest in US history," Trump posted on Truth Social. "Thank you to our partners in India, and their largest privately held Energy Company, Reliance, for this tremendous Investment."

The project, operating under the name America First Refining, is a rebranding of the Element Fuels initiative first proposed in 2024.
