New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced five bank holidays for November 2025, according to its state-wise official holiday calendar for the 2025–26 fiscal year. Bank holidays in India differ from state to state and are determined by national, regional, and religious observances.
In addition to the designated holidays, banks will remain closed on all Sundays, as well as on the second and fourth Saturdays of the month. Below is a detailed state-wise list to help individuals and businesses plan their financial transactions in advance.
Bank Holidays in November 2025: State-Wise Calendar
November 1: All public and private banks in Karnataka will remain closed in observance of Kannada Rajyothsava, commemorating the 1956 merger of Kannada-speaking regions to form the state of Karnataka. Banks in Dehradun will also be closed to mark Igas-Bagwal (Budhi Deepawali).
November 5: Banks will remain shut in several regions—including Aizawl, Belapur, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Hyderabad, Itanagar, Jaipur, Jammu, Kanpur, Kohima, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, New Delhi, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, and Srinagar—on account of Guru Nanak Jayanti, Kartika Purnima, and Rahas Purnima.
November 6: Banks in Shillong will remain closed for Nongkrem Dance, a five-day Khasi festival featuring traditional dances and ceremonial rituals, including the symbolic goat sacrifice.
November 7: All banks in Shillong will remain closed again, this time in observance of the Wangala Festival, during which the Garo community offers prayers and sacrifices to their Sun God, Saljong.
November 8: Banks in Bengaluru will remain closed for Kanakadasa Jayanthi, marking the birth anniversary of poet and social reformer Shri Kanakadasa.
Services Available During Bank Holidays
Even on bank holidays, customers can continue to access online and mobile banking services, unless there is a scheduled technical outage. ATMs will remain operational for cash withdrawals, and payments can be made seamlessly through UPI and mobile banking apps.
While bank branch operations may be temporarily affected during holidays, digital banking ensures that essential financial transactions continue without interruption.
Bank holidays are decided by the RBI, which publishes an annual calendar listing national holidays, festivals, and regional observances. Some bank holidays are specific to certain states, meaning not all branches across India will close on the same dates.
