Instamart has partnered with HPCL to launch what the companies call India's first on-demand LPG cylinder delivery service on a quick commerce platform. The service begins in Bengaluru and includes the rollout of HPCL's new lightweight HP Navya composite LPG cylinder.

Ordering an LPG cylinder could soon be as simple as buying groceries online. Instamart has partnered with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) to introduce what the companies describe as India's first on-demand LPG cylinder delivery service through a quick commerce platform, with Bengaluru becoming the first city to receive the service.
The launch also marks the commercial debut of HPCL's HP Navya, a newly introduced 10 kg composite LPG cylinder designed to be lighter, corrosion-resistant, and easier to handle than traditional steel cylinders.
The translucent body allows users to see the remaining gas level without requiring additional equipment.
Customers in Bengaluru can order both the HP Navya composite cylinder and HPCL's existing 5 kg metal LPG cylinder directly through the Instamart app.
Unlike conventional domestic LPG services, users do not need to have an existing household LPG connection, making the service suitable for students, tenants, working professionals, and smaller households.
For first-time buyers, cylinders will be delivered after identity verification and completion of proof-of-delivery formalities. Future purchases will function as refills, with the empty cylinder collected at the time of delivery.
The companies said all orders will be fulfilled through HPCL's authorised distributor network, with trained delivery personnel following prescribed safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
Announcing the partnership, Instamart CEO Amitesh Jha said the platform has evolved beyond grocery delivery and now caters to a wider range of everyday needs.
He added that the collaboration with HPCL extends that convenience to an essential household service while maintaining safety and reliability.
HPCL Director, Marketing, Amit Garg said the initiative is part of the company's effort to make LPG more accessible across India while leveraging digital platforms to improve customer experience.
With operations spanning over 131 Indian cities and more than 50,000 stock-keeping units, Instamart's entry into LPG delivery marks its expansion into a highly regulated category that demands strict safety and compliance standards.
