Gold prices in India remained firm on Thursday, July 2, with 24-karat gold (99.9% purity) priced at ₹14,455 per gram, while 22-karat gold (91.6% purity) was selling at ₹13,250 per gram. The price of 18-karat gold (75% purity) stood at ₹10,841 per gram.
The yellow metal continues to trade near record levels, reflecting sustained demand amid global economic uncertainty. Gold remains a preferred investment for many Indians, serving as a traditional hedge against inflation and market volatility.
Analysts say domestic gold prices continue to be influenced by international bullion rates, the rupee's movement against the US dollar, central bank policies, and geopolitical developments. Gold prices remained largely uniform across major Indian cities on Thursday, July 2, with minor variations in a few markets. The price of 24-karat gold stood at ₹14,455 per gram in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kerala and Pune, while it was marginally higher at ₹14,456 in Chennai and ₹14,460 in Delhi, Vadodara and Ahmedabad. Similarly, 22-karat gold was priced at ₹13,250 per gram in most cities, rising to ₹13,251 in Chennai and ₹13,255 in Delhi, Vadodara and Ahmedabad. The rate for 18-karat gold was ₹10,841 per gram across most markets, ₹10,846 in Delhi, Vadodara and Ahmedabad, and ₹11,071 in Chennai. Silver prices also showed regional differences, trading at ₹2,50,000 per kg in Chennai, Hyderabad and Kerala, while remaining at ₹2,45,000 per kg in Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Pune, Vadodara and Ahmedabad.
