Meanwhile, 22-carat gold stood at ₹14,516 per gram, also registering a ₹1 increase, while 18-carat gold was priced at ₹11,877 per gram. Among major cities, Chennai reported the highest gold prices, with 24K gold at ₹16,090 per gram and 22K gold at ₹14,749 per gram. Prices in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Kerala and Pune remained broadly aligned with the national average.
Silver prices, however, witnessed a minor decline. Silver was trading at ₹279.90 per gram and ₹2,79,900 per kilogram, down by ₹0.10 per gram and ₹100 per kilogram respectively. Market experts attributed the slight dip to movements in international precious metal prices and currency fluctuations.
Chennai, Hyderabad and Kerala recorded the highest silver rates among major cities at ₹2,84,900 per kilogram, while Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bangalore and Pune reported silver prices at ₹2,79,900 per kilogram.
Bullion traders noted that domestic gold and silver prices continue to be influenced by global economic indicators, geopolitical developments and investor sentiment in international markets.
