The benchmark price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹14,347 per gram, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹13,151 per gram.

Gold prices in India remained broadly steady on Tuesday, with the precious metal continuing to attract buyers seeking a traditional hedge against inflation and economic uncertainty. Rates showed only marginal day-on-day movement, reflecting a relatively stable market despite ongoing fluctuations in global bullion prices and currency trends.
The benchmark price of 24-carat gold stood at ₹14,347 per gram, while 22-carat gold was priced at ₹13,151 per gram. Meanwhile, 18-carat gold traded at ₹10,760 per gram in most major cities. Delhi recorded slightly higher prices than several other metropolitan centres, while Chennai reported a higher rate for 18-carat gold compared with the national average.
Silver prices also remained largely unchanged across the country. The metal was quoted at ₹235.10 per gram and ₹2,35,100 per kilogram in most cities. Chennai, Hyderabad and Kerala registered slightly lower silver prices, with the metal trading at ₹2,34,900 per kilogram.
Market analysts said bullion prices continue to be influenced by international trends, movements in the US dollar and investor expectations over interest rates. Domestic demand, festive buying and jewellery purchases are also expected to shape price movements in the coming weeks.
Although prices have stayed firm, investors are advised to monitor global economic developments and currency fluctuations before making fresh purchases. Gold remains a preferred long-term store of value, while silver continues to benefit from both investment demand and its extensive industrial use.
