Commercial LPG cylinders get costlier by up to ₹71.50 from October 1, while domestic LPG prices remain unchanged for households.

Commercial LPG users are facing another price increase from Thursday, October 1, with state-owned oil marketing companies raising the rates of 19-kg cylinders across cities.
The latest revision comes just weeks before the festive season, when hotels, restaurants, caterers and other businesses typically see higher demand.
October 1 LPG rates: City-wise
- Delhi: 19-kg commercial LPG cylinder now costs ₹2,810, up by ₹62.50.
- Mumbai: Commercial LPG cylinder now costs ₹2,763.50, up by ₹62.50.
- Kolkata: The price has risen to ₹2,946.50, an increase of ₹62.50.
- Chennai: The 19-kg cylinder now costs ₹2,979, following a ₹62.50 hike.
- Bengaluru: Commercial LPG now costs ₹2,898, up by ₹67 from September. Good Returns Kannada
- Patna: The price has jumped by ₹71.50, taking the cylinder to ₹3,100.50.
The latest revision follows another increase in September. On September 1, commercial LPG prices in Delhi were raised by ₹9.50, taking the 19-kg cylinder to ₹2,747.50.
Another cost increase for businesses
The October revision is likely to add to the running expenses of establishments that depend heavily on LPG for commercial cooking. Restaurants, hotels, food outlets, catering businesses and other commercial kitchens use 19-kg cylinders as a regular cooking fuel, meaning repeated price changes can feed directly into operating costs.
The latest increase also comes at a time when businesses are preparing for increased festive-season activity.
However, the immediate impact of Thursday's revision is limited to commercial LPG users.
No change in domestic LPG prices
For household consumers, there is no fresh price increase. The rates of 14.2-kg domestic LPG cylinders have been kept unchanged, meaning households will not pay more for their regular cooking-gas refill because of the October 1 revision.
Commercial LPG pricing is reviewed monthly by state-owned oil marketing companies and can reflect movements in international LPG prices and associated costs.
The Centre has previously stated that commercial LPG prices are market-determined, while domestic LPG prices have been kept insulated from some of these fluctuations.
The October revision therefore creates a clear divide for LPG users: businesses face another increase in the cost of commercial cooking gas, while household consumers continue with the existing domestic-cylinder rates.
