Thrissur: A youth was killed and another injured after the motorbike they were travelling on rammed into a pillar inside the Kuthiran Highway Tunnel, Thrissur. The incident took place around 8 pm on Sunday. 

The deceased has been identified as Vinu (24), a native of Chittilencheri, Palakkad. Elanad native Midhun (17), who rode pillion, sustained severe injuries and has been admitted to a private hospital in Thrissur. 

As per reports, the bike lost control and hit a pillar of the tunnel towards the Palakkad route. The vehicle was completely destroyed in the accident. 

The duo were rushed to the hospital in an ambulance from Pattikkad. Meanwhile, ambulance driver Aneesh Pappachan suffered injury to his hand amid the rescue operation.
