Kannur: A suspected case of drug overdose has claimed the life of a 29-year-old man, Salmanulla Haris, in Kannur.
On April 19, Haris went missing from his house and was later found dead.
According to his family, two young persons had taken him to a hospital located a few kilometres away from his family residence, but had absconded soon after. The family suspects the involvement of the drug mafia and has demanded an investigation into the matter.
The police team investigating the case, led by Kannur ASP, has found needle marks on Haris's hand, indicating possible drug use.
His internal organs have been sent for testing to identify the presence of foreign substances.
It has come to light that Haris had sought treatment at a de-addiction centre in the past. The investigation is ongoing.
