Adoor: A youth died by suicide after incurring a loss of Rs 2 crore in the share market. The deceased has been identified as Tessan Thomas (32), hailing from Ezhamkulam near Pathanamthitta's Adoor.
He was found hanging from a ceiling fan in his bedroom around 4 pm on Monday. The family with help of locals rushed him to Adoor Taluk hospital, but he succumbed.
Tessan, an engineer by profession, got married two months ago. Recently, he quit his job and started investing in the share market.
Those close to Tessan revealed that he lost a large sum of money in the share market. They suspect that this might have prompted him to commit suicide. His relatives added that Tessan was seen as mentally depressed.
Meanwhile, police have registered a case and launched an investigation. Adoor SHO said they would investigate whether Tessan had borrowed money from others.
