Vadakara: The Vadakara NDPS court has sentenced a man to 24 years of Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) and imposed a fine of Rs 2.5 lakhs for his involvement in the possession of Hashish Oil, Cocaine, and LSD Stamps. K Fasalu (35), hailing from West Mankavu in Kozhikode, was found guilty of possessing drugs and was punished by Judge VPM Suresh Babu. If the culprit fails to pay the stipulated fine, he will face an additional six months of incarceration.
24 years of RI has been issued under various sections, however, Fasalu can undergo the punishment concurrently. Two other individuals, Kozhikode native Deepak (33) and Bengaluru native Safarullah Khan (51), who were involved in the case, have been acquitted of charges.
The incident pertaining to the case happened on March 16, 2022. Back then, in a raid conducted by the Excise Circle Inspector at Fasalu’s residence in Kozhikode, 1,435 grams of Hashish Oil, 2.74 grams of MDMA, 3.5 grams of cocaine and 1.52 grams of LSD were seized by the officials.
As per the case, Fasalu used to purchase drugs from Bengaluru, Goa, and Delhi, and he used to courier it to customers as per their requirements. Public prosecutor A Sanoj appeared on behalf of the prosecution.
