Abhi spends extra time in each district exploring local attractions and interacting with people, making his journey much longer than a typical cycling trip

Kasaragod: A bicycle, 40 days and nearly 1,000 kilometres of solo travel may not sound extraordinary. But 20-year-old Abhi from Parassala accomplished the feat on a unicycle—a bicycle with just one wheel.
Balancing his entire body on a single wheel with just a seat and a pair of pedals, Abhi rode across Kerala on a vehicle that is still unfamiliar to most Malayalis. His unique Kerala tour is set to conclude in Kasaragod on Thursday.
Abhi first learned about unicycles after stumbling upon a video online a few years ago. When he tried to buy one, he found that although unicycles are popular in Gulf countries, they were not available in the Indian market. Determined to own one, he decided to have it custom-built.
After connecting with a maker through social media, he got the unicycle built in Rameswaram based on his own design. By then, Abhi was in his BBA final year. Once he completed his examination, armed with ₹500 given by his mother, he set off on his dream journey.
Rather than simply covering distances, Abhi spends extra time in each district exploring local attractions and interacting with people, making his journey much longer than a typical cycling trip.
He is also an anti-drug awareness campaigner and has spoken to students at several schools during his journey, spreading awareness about substance abuse.
