Kottiyoor: 'Bhandaram Ezhunnallathu', a key ritual at the Kottiyoor temple, was celebrated with pomp and piety.
'Bhandaram Ezhunnallathu' is a ritual during which divine ornaments were brought in procession from the nearby Manathana to the temple. Along with the ornaments, repositories and gold-silver vessels kept in Manathara Karimpana tower were brought to the temple. Women can now enter the temple for darshan. The treasures were brought to Kottiyoor at midnight on Wednesday.
The treasure is accompanied by Kudipathis, percussion, and elephants. The Valashans carry the swords of Bhagwati from Chapparam along with the treasure to Kottiyoor. Before reaching Kottiyoor, Vallatam will be performed at five places.
