Palakkad, Kerala: A suicide note has been recovered in connection with the death of a married woman, who was found hanging at her husband’s residence in Puthuppariyaram, officials said.
The deceased, identified as Meera (32), was found dead at her husband Anoop’s residence on Wednesday. The note, written in a notebook found in the room, reportedly stated that she did not receive the love and attention she expected from her husband and child, police said. The authorities added that the note did not contain any serious allegations warranting Anoop’s custody.
Earlier, Meera’s relatives had expressed suspicion over the circumstances of her death. Based on statements from the deceased’s mother, police registered a case of unnatural death. Both Meera and Anoop were in their second marriage and had tied the knot about a year ago after dating. The couple had recently celebrated their wedding anniversary. The officials said the couple reportedly had an argument over Anoop not posting a wedding anniversary status on WhatsApp.
According to her family, Meera had returned to her parents' home two months ago following marital issues. The family said they had attempted to resolve the issues.
On Tuesday night, another argument led Meera to return to her parents’ home, before Anoop brought her back around midnight. At around 6:30 am, neighbours reportedly called the family, saying Meera was in the hospital and requesting they contact the police station.
