Minister K Krishnankutty hits back at Mathew Kuzhalnadan’s flood corruption claims, threatening legal action and suggesting the leaked audio might be AI-generated.

Palakkad: Minister K Krishnankutty has disowned the audio clip released by Mathew Kuzhalnadan regarding the 2018 Kerala floods and announced that he will initiate legal proceedings against the MLA. Earlier on Tuesday, Muvattupuzha MLA and Congress candidate Kuzhalnadan had held a press conference releasing an audio clip in which Krishnankutty purportedly tells a party leader that corruption and irregularities in opening the Thottappally spillway and managing water flow at Peringalkuthu led to the disaster.
Responding to the claims, Krishnankutty also demanded an investigation to determine if the audio clip released by Kuzhalnadan was AI-generated.
When questioned about the presence of his former staff member alongside Kuzhalnadan at the press conference, the Minister said, "He had made certain demands, but I could only do what was permissible. He is no longer in the party; he was expelled. He used to raise unnecessary issues and exert pressure. Eventually, he joined the rival faction, leaving us with no choice but to expel him."
The former Water Resources Minister maintained that there were no lapses in the Cabinet decisions regarding the Thottappally spillway or other flood management measures. He further alleged that Congress MLA Kuzhalnadan's accusations are a calculated attempt to tarnish the LDF government’s reputation during the election season.
