Idukki: Wild tusker Padayappa returned to the human settlement areas in Munnar on Sunday night.
The elephant, also known as Munnar Padayappa, was spotted at an eco-point near the Vattavada route. The tusker vandalised three shops and ate sugarcane and corn kept for sale. The traffic was disrupted on the route for almost an hour.
The locals said that Padayappa often visited the place after his bath in the Mattupetty dam reservoir. However, the tusker didn't attack any passersby or locals and left after some time.
