
Kozhikode: The elephant that fell into a well in the district has been rescued after 14 hours of long effort. The elephant, after the rescue, was released into the forest. It is reported that the elephant does not have any serious injury.
The elephant was rescued by demolishing the well using a dredger. The well is located in Anakkamoyil near Thiruvambadi.
Locals came to know about the incident really late as the well is situated next to a forest area. However, once the locals came to know of the incident, they joined hands with the forest department to rescue the animal. This area used to be inhabited by more than 15 families in the past. However, eventually most of them had to relocate due to the threats posed by the wild animals.
