He said the protest against being labelled as “cockroaches” should not be dismissed as a mere spontaneous reaction

Thiruvananthapuram: Opposition leader Pinarayi Vijayan has extended support to the Cockroach Janta Party, criticising the Centre’s actions as intolerance towards democratic protests. He said the protest against being labelled as “cockroaches” should not be dismissed as a mere spontaneous reaction.
The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) is a satirical political collective founded by young activist Abhijeet Dipke. After the group gained more followers on social media than the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in some spaces, CJP’s X and Instagram accounts were reportedly suspended. Later, Abhijeet’s personal account was also suspended.
Following this, several prominent political figures came forward in support of CJP, mocking the BJP for allegedly fearing even a social media collective like the Cockroach Party. It was in this context that Pinarayi Vijayan condemned the Centre’s actions and shared his views through a Facebook post.
