Kochi: The Water Metro will commence its services to Fort Kochi on coming Sunday, i.e. April 21. Rs 40 will be charged for every ticket for the service starting from the High Court junction terminal. There will be repeated services in a gap of 20-30 minutes.
The KMRL has informed that the preparations for the services are all done. The construction works of the terminal have been completed as well. The Cochin shipyard had handed over a new boat the previous day. Trial runs were conducted and ticketing procedures and other facilities have been checked and verified.
In a press release, KMRL stated that through the Water Metro it intends to ease commuting for both locals and tourists, helping them avoid spending hours in traffic blocks.
