Kochi: Even while Dominic Martin claims to be the man behind the Kalamassery blasts, several questions of the police and central agencies still remain unanswered.

Martin has claimed that he was part of the Jehova’s Witnesses for the last 17 years. At the same time, he also says that he has been maintaining a distance from the group over the last six years. Now all these are confusing. The investigating officials are closely studying the case in order to find out whether the attack was an impulsive act or part of a larger conspiracy involving more people.  

Martin Dominic was working as a foreman in a construction company in Dubai. He had arrived in Kerala almost one and half months ago. The investigating officials are looking into Martin’s contacts in Dubai as well. His social media contacts are also being verified at the moment.

Doubts loom large

  • Investigations are still not fully convinced with Martin’s online confession and the video evidence he produced in connection with the incident.
  • Officials are looking into whether Martin is consciously trying to grab all the attention with the intent of restricting the investigation only to him. 
  • Questions still remain over why he deleted his confession video soon after posting it on social media.
  • The perpetrator’s call history is also being verified.
  • Martin’s expertise in IED explosions is worrisome.
