Vythiri: The long wait of an entire village has come to an end as the Kunnathuthottam Anganwadi becomes a reality. The Anganwadi will be constructed on land provided by the panchayat president using funds allocated by the panchayat. Vythiri Panchayat President MV Vijesh has donated three and a half cents of land free of cost at Ambalakkunnu, near Vythiri town, for the Anganwadi.

The panchayat had allocated ₹20 lakhs for the construction of the Anganwadi. However, due to rising land prices and other challenges, a suitable location could not be found. Despite approaching many people and exploring various options, the effort to acquire land had remained unsuccessful. It was then that President Vijesh decided to donate the land.

Vijesh said the land was donated in memory of his father Vijayakumar, and that the construction of the Anganwadi will be completed quickly. The facility will benefit residents of Kunnathuthottam, Ambalakkunnu, and Kollichal 16.

The Anganwadi is being built at a location easily accessible to people from all three regions. The foundation stone will be laid by Vijesh himself at 10 am on Monday. He is also a member of the CPM Vythiri area committee.
