Tirur: In a hearty accomplishment, a 50-year-old differently-abled man wrote his first letters and set foot into the world of learning at Thunjan Parambu in Tirur on Vijayadasami day. Tavanur resident Narayanan wrote his first words at the land of the father of Malayalam Language with the aid of writer Dr K Sreekumar, Coordinator of Thunjan Memorial Trust.
Along with Narayanan, 20 others belonging to various age groups (22 - 50) also etched their first letters. Tinku, Kittu, Ramu, Abdulla, Mariyappan, Jasil, Sandeep, Joy, Kesavan, Nanu, and Prabhu were among them.
“For me, being able to keep these old children, who remain distanced from the mainstream, close is a blessing in my life,” said Dr Sreekumar.
