Thiruvananthapuram: Former ambassador to the Netherlands, Venu Rajamony has rejected the reports that he will contest the Assembly elections as a UDF candidate in Vattiyoorkavu here. Speaking to mathrubhumi.com, he said that UDF leaders had asked him of his willingness to contest and that he rejected the offer.

He also confirmed that there were no further talks on it.

As Venu rejected the offer, the name of Jyothi Vijayakumar, who rose to fame after translating the speeches of Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi has been surfacing for the Vattiyoorkavu seat.

Also other leaders like N Peethambaran and RV Rajesh are also being considered.

It is expected that a female candidate will be fielded in Vamanapuram, Kattakkada or Vattiyoorkavu.
