Rumours had circulated throughout the day that she would reach Thiruvananthapuram Medical College for follow-up treatment, but she did not arrive.
The minister was discharged from Pariyaram at 4 am. With no official clarification on her location until night, speculation intensified. Around 8 pm, her office issued a press release confirming she was at home in Pathanamthitta and that all programmes had been postponed until Monday.

Sources said she opted to travel by road to Pathanamthitta as there was no direct flight to Thiruvananthapuram. Owing to fatigue, she had to rest at relatives’ and friends’ homes during the journey, which delayed her arrival.
Medical timeline
Thursday, 4 p.m.: Medical bulletin said travel was not advisable and recommended continued ICU care at Pariyaram.
Thursday, 10 p.m.: Medical board met online. The minister reported reduced pain and ability to manage without assistance. Discharge was approved with follow-up treatment to be shifted to Thiruvananthapuram.
Friday, 4 a.m.: Discharged and began road journey. The Congress mocked the long car trip, alleging it exposed inconsistencies in the earlier medical advice.
