Thiruvananthapuram: The Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Bureau has sought permission from Speaker to conduct a probe against VD Satheeshan MLA in connection with the allegation that he accepted foreign aid without approval for the flood rehabilitation project Punarjani implemented in Paravoor constituency.

It was alleged that he violated guidelines in accepting foreign help. After completing the preliminary probe, Vigilance had approached the home department for further probe. Speaker P Sreeramakrishnan, who is in Gujarat for the Speakers Conference, will return to Kerala on November 30.

A decision on Vigilance request will be taken up then.
