Kerala’s designated CM V D Satheesan trims his motorcade to just two vehicles to avoid public inconvenience.

Thiruvananthapuram: CM-designate V.D. Satheesan has stated that he does not require a massive motorcade for his travels. He has issued strict instructions to ensure that the Chief Minister's movements do not cause any inconvenience to the public. Consequently, the Chief Minister’s vehicle will now be accompanied only by pilot and escort vehicles.
V D Satheesan had initially requested that only a pilot vehicle accompany him. He emphasised that the public should not be hindered and expressed a desire to travel as a common citizen, just as he did previously. However, the police informed him that since the Chief Minister is under Z-category security, protection cannot be limited to a single pilot vehicle. Therefore, an escort vehicle will also accompany him. Following his announcement as Chief Minister, the police had arranged heavy security for V D Satheesan's recent travels. This new directive comes after he noticed that these security measures were causing difficulties for the general public in several locations.
