New Delhi: Kerala CM V.D. Satheesan is set to arrive in Delhi late on Monday for discussions amid growing speculation over the appointment of the next Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president.

According to sources at Kerala House, Satheesan is expected to reach the national capital around 11.45 pm. While he has officially sought appointments with several Union ministers during the ongoing Monsoon Session of Parliament, party sources indicate that resolving the uncertainty over the KPCC president's post is likely to be the key focus of his visit.

The prolonged delay in appointing a new KPCC president has created organisational uncertainty within the Kerala Congress. Against this backdrop, the All India Congress Committee (AICC) leadership is understood to be keen on finalising the appointment at the earliest.

Satheesan is expected to meet Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday. During these meetings, he is likely to present his views on the leadership change in the Kerala unit, according to party sources.

Neither Satheesan's office nor his close aides have officially confirmed the proposed meetings with the AICC leadership. However, Congress sources said that discussions with the party's central leadership are likely given his presence in Delhi.

Although Satheesan has sought meetings with several Union ministers, the appointments are yet to be confirmed.

He is expected to return to Kerala by Tuesday evening ahead of the state cabinet meeting scheduled for Wednesday. The outcome of his discussions in Delhi is expected to play a significant role in shaping the Congress party's organisational restructuring in Kerala.
