Vaikom: An unidentified corpse was discovered in the Vaikom Mahadeva Temple pond. Devotees found the body in the pond around 10 am. Following this, temple officials were informed, and the Vaikom fire and rescue team arrived to shift the body to the taluk hospital mortuary.

The temple remained closed for half an hour after the discovery of the corpse in the pond. It was reopened only after the purification procedures were performed.
