
Kochi – MLA Uma Thomas, who sustained serious injuries after falling from a temporary stage at Kaloor Stadium, will be discharged from the hospital on Thursday. She had been undergoing treatment since December 29, when she was admitted in critical condition following the accident at around 6.30 pm.
Doctors have advised that she can continue her physiotherapy at home, leading to the decision to discharge her. After a recovery period of nearly one and a half months, Uma Thomas has regained her health and will address the media before leaving the hospital.
The accident occurred during the Mridanganadam Guinness World Record event, where 11,600 dancers performed under the leadership of Divya Unni. Uma Thomas fell from an improperly constructed stage onto a concrete slab 15 feet below, suffering severe injuries.
Following her admission to the hospital on December 29, she was initially placed on a ventilator. As her condition improved, she was later moved to the ICU for further treatment.
