Two dead and one hospitalised in Vizhinjam after suspected food poisoning at Asmak Hotel; Food Safety Department investigates.

Thiruvananthapuram: Two people died after consuming food at a hotel in Vizhinjam, with food poisoning suspected as the cause. One other person is undergoing treatment.
The deceased have been identified as Shaji (42) from Chadayamangalam and his mother-in-law, Rashida Beevi (58). Shaji's wife, aged 39, is receiving care at Sajimol Parippally Hospital.
According to police, the family had eaten at Asmak Hotel, located near the Muhyyadddeen Mosque in Vizhinjam. Initial reports suggest they had consumed fish curry. Shaji had visited the hotel with his family, including his two children, who reportedly did not experience any health issues.
Relatives stated that Shaji began vomiting and showing other symptoms shortly after leaving the hotel. He was subsequently admitted to the hospital, where he later passed away alongside Rashida Beevi.
The Food Safety Department has launched an investigation into the incident to determine the cause of the suspected food poisoning.
