
Thiruvananthapuram: The Thiruvananthapuram International Airport will be taken over by the Adani Group on October 14. The company Adani Trivandrum International Airport Limited (ATIAL) is all set to take over the airport. As per the contract, the Adani group will give the airport authority Rs 168 for each passenger that arrives at the airport.
Former Airport Authority Officer Madhusudana Rao is the Chief Airport Officer of ATIAL. Employees other than current senior officers can continue as a part of the Adani group for another three years.
The Adani group had invited subcontracts for projects to expand the facilities in the airport. New duty-free shops, food courts, and retail shops will be opened.
The case filed by the state government and the Airports Authority Employees Union against handing over the airport to Adani Group is under consideration of the Supreme Court.
