Kalpetta: Minister K Radhakrishnan said that Tribal organisations favour bringing restrictions on people visiting tribal hamlets in the state.
He pointed out that the need for getting prior approval before visiting Tribal villages is a move made in the right direction. "Disasters had struck the tribal communities in recent years, with the increase in the suicide rate among tribal women, drug usage and others. We should not let such events happen again. However, no one stops people from doing activities good to these communities," he added.
His remark came after inaugurating 'En Ooru tribal heritage village' in Wayanad. He reiterated that no one is stopped from going to the tribal hamlets. The decision to introduce the need to take permission was introduced to bar unlawful activities from taking part in tribal communities.
