Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Minister for Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes K Radhakrishnan announced that digital connectivity will be brought to all the scheduled tribe hamlets of the state by this year. A decision in this regard was taken amid talks held with BSNL authorities, he said.
Taking to Facebook, Radhakrishnan wrote, “There are 1,284 tribal hamlets in the state. Of this, 1,073 have digital connectivity. Another 211 are yet to attain connectivity. With the installation of 161 more towers, all hamlets will be digitally connected.”
Further, the minister added that suitable land to erect the towers will be determined in consultation with the hamlets by June 15. “The specially designed digitally connected project in Wayanad will be implemented by July 15,” he wrote.
