
Thrissur: A tribal man was stamped to death by a wild elephant in Thrissur on Wednesday. The deceased has been identified as Prabhakaran (60), a native of Thamara Vellachal. He was trampled to death while collecting forest resources. His body is in the forest.
The incident took place near the Peechi forest area, where Prabhakaran encountered the elephant in the inner forest. He had entered the forest with his son and son-in-law when the attack occurred. His companions immediately informed the locals about the tragedy.
According to locals, there have been no previous incidents of wild elephant attacks in the area. Further action will be taken once forest department officials arrive at the scene.
